What a personal year 8 is about
The eighth season is the one people look forward to, usually for the wrong reason. Numerology assigns 8 to consequence: the position where the work of the previous seven years supposedly comes back readable, in whatever form it was done. Older books shorten that to money and authority and then spend a page walking it back. What the tradition actually describes is weight. Things get counted, decisions have edges, and the year is written up as the least forgiving of the nine.
Nothing changes in the working. Take your birth month reduced, your birth day reduced, the calendar year reduced, add them and reduce again. The birth year is deliberately absent, which is why the number moves and a Life Path does not. Since 2026 is a universal 1 year, personal 8 belongs there to birth dates whose month and day reduce to 7: 6 January, 5 February, 4 March, 3 April, 2 May, 1 June, 9 July, 8 August, 7 September and 25 September.
Every honest treatment of this number carries the same footnote, so here it is plainly. A season described as being about results does not produce results, and nothing on this page is a claim about your finances, your work or your prospects. The cycle describes a symbolic pattern and changes nothing at all. What the 8 year has going for it, read charitably, is that it asks a blunt question about what the last seven years were spent on.

How the number is worked out
The birth year is deliberately left out. That single omission is what makes this number move: the Life Path uses all three parts of a birth date and never changes, while the personal year swaps one part for the calendar and lands somewhere new every January.
Because the universal year advances by one each year and your birth month and day stay put, your personal year also advances by one each year. Nine years later it comes back around. Whichever calendar year you are looking at, the table opposite says which birth month and day sums land on 8.
Two conventions are worth naming. Your birth month and day are reduced by value, so November is 11 and the 22nd is 22; some books add the digits first and get 2 and 4 instead. And some numerologists keep a master number in the final answer rather than collapsing it. This site does not, because a nine-position cycle has nowhere to put a tenth and eleventh position. Where a master number turns up on the way down, the working shows it.

What comes after a 8 year
Personal year 9 finishes the cycle, and the tradition treats it as the emptying. Nine is given to endings, release and clearing out whatever will not be carried into the next nine years, which makes it the exact opposite of the accumulating season before it. Numerologists describe the 8 and 9 years as a pair for that reason: one gathers and one lets go. Whatever the ledger year produced, the year after it is written up as the year for putting some of it down.

No. Not in any sense, and any source that says otherwise is selling something. The association between the number and money is symbolic, it is about a century old in Western numerology, and it has no bearing on anyone's income.
Work out your birth month plus your birth day: if it reduces to 7, the universal 1 carries you to 8. Among the dates that qualify are 6 January, 5 February, 4 March, 3 April, 2 May, 1 June, 9 July, 8 August, 7 September and 25 September.
Two unconnected traditions arrived at it and the reputations merged. In modern Western numerology, early twentieth-century writers handed 8 the executive register, giving it business, authority and material affairs, largely because they needed somewhere in a nine-digit scheme to put them. In Chinese culture the reason is phonetic: the word for eight sounds close to a word meaning to prosper, which is why the digit turns up in phone numbers, addresses and auction prices across the Chinese-speaking world. Neither lineage borrowed from the other, and neither has any mechanism behind it.
