Universal year · 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10 → 1

2026 is a universal 1 year

The nine-year cycle starts over. Everyone shares the universal number, and your own personal year for 2026 comes from your birth month and day laid over it.

The arithmetic

10 → 1

Two steps, no chart

A year is already a number, so the only operation is addition. 2026 is the first universal 1 since 2017.

The universal year

Unlike every other number in the chart, this one takes nothing from you. It is the same for a newborn and a centenarian.

Nine years on

The universal number climbs by one each January and rolls over after 9, so the cycle is exactly nine calendar years long.

November keeps its 11 and the 22nd keeps its 22, because we reduce each part by its value and master numbers are not reduced. They collapse anyway once the sums meet, which the table opposite already accounts for. Books that add the digits first will show you November as 2 and the 22nd as 4; this site uses the value-first rule on every page, Life Path included.

Step three · add them, reduce, read across

Month + day = 1
Personal year 2, the patient season
Month + day = 2
Personal year 3, the talking season
Month + day = 3
Personal year 4, the working year
Month + day = 4
Personal year 5, the loosened year
Month + day = 5
Personal year 6, the household year
Month + day = 6
Personal year 7, the fallow year
Month + day = 7
Personal year 8, the ledger year
Month + day = 8
Personal year 9, the clearing year
Month + day = 9
Personal year 1, the first furrow

Worked example: born 14 March. March is 3, the 14th reduces to 5, and 3 + 5 = 8. Read across from 8 and 2026 is a personal year 9.

2026 numerology — frequently asked

One. Add the digits of the year, 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10, then 1 + 0 = 1. Every person on the planet shares that number for the calendar year, which is what makes it universal rather than personal.

Reduce your birth month, reduce your birth day, add the two together, add the universal year, and reduce again. Someone born on 14 March gets 3 + 5 = 8, plus the universal 1, giving a personal year 9. Your birth year never enters the sum, which is what makes the number move from year to year while your Life Path stays put.

No. The tradition reads a 1 year as an opening rather than a good one, and there is no evidence that any number makes a year go better or worse. Nothing on this site will tell you a year is safe for a decision.

Sources disagree, which is worth knowing before you read anything into the date. The commonest modern convention runs the personal year with the calendar, 1 January to 31 December. An older school runs it birthday to birthday, so the number changes on the day you were born. A third splits the difference and treats the months either side of your birthday as a handover. We use the calendar convention throughout this site because it is the one nearly every current source assumes.

2035. The universal year advances by one each January and rolls over after nine, so 2027 is a 2, 2034 is a 9, and the cycle restarts in 2035.
