Personal year 7: the fallow year

The fallow season: withdrawal, study and a year that produces nothing visible.

Position in the cycle

7

The Fallow Year

The seventh position in the cycle, given over to quiet, study and the questions nobody asks in company.

Worked example

January 5

1 + 5 + 1 = 7

A birthday on that date puts you in personal year 7 during 2026. The birth year never enters the sum.

Either side of it

6 · 8

The year before, the year after

The cycle runs 1 to 9 and starts over, so a 7 year always follows a 6 and always hands over to a 8.

The 7 year month by month

Inside a personal year, the personal month advances by one each calendar month. Both numbers are shown.

JanuaryPersonal month 8

January begins on a personal 8, which is the wrong-footed opening this year is known for. Weight and counting first, quiet afterwards.

FebruaryPersonal month 9

A personal 9 in February closes something almost immediately. Numerologists read the early ending as clearing the desk for the rest of the year.

MarchPersonal month 1

The personal 1 lands in March, so the year's real beginning arrives in spring rather than in January. That 9 and 1 sit side by side.

AprilPersonal month 2

April brings a personal 2. Other people, small print, waiting: the tradition's short list, and an easy fit with a year already inclined to be slow.

MayPersonal month 3

May reaches a personal 3 and the quiet year gets its one properly sociable stretch. Talk, company, the material of the year said out loud.

JunePersonal month 4

A personal 4 in June: method and hours, and older texts treat this as the month the year's thinking turns into something with a shape.

JulyPersonal month 5

The personal 5 in July unsettles midsummer. Movement in a fallow year reads as interruption, which the sources note without complaint.

AugustPersonal month 6

Personal 6 in August, so the household reasserts itself. Obligations to other people arriving in the middle of a year set aside for solitude.

SeptemberPersonal month 7

September repeats the year's own digit as a personal 7, and the tradition calls this the deepest month of the twelve.

OctoberPersonal month 8

Practical weight returns in October on a personal 8, ten months on, with rather more behind it than January had.

NovemberPersonal month 9

November lands on a personal 9 and something else finishes. The second ending of the year, and the sources describe it as smaller than the first.

DecemberPersonal month 1

The year closes on a personal 1. A season defined by withdrawal ends on the number for starting, which puts the next chapter within reach.

What a 7 year is said to suit

Traditionally read as easier

  • study, research and taking something apart
  • work with no audience attached to it
  • questions rather than answers
  • long solitary stretches

Traditionally read as harder

  • outward push and public campaigns
  • explaining what the year is for
  • crowds and constant company

Read those as descriptions of a tradition, not instructions. Nothing on this page predicts an outcome or tells you what to do with your money, your health or anyone else.

How the number is worked out

Birth month plus birth day plus the calendar year, each reduced, then reduced again.

Personal year 7 — frequently asked

No. Quiet is not the same as unfortunate, and the cycle does not rank its nine positions. The 7 season simply gets described in terms of withdrawal rather than output.

The ones whose birth month and birth day reduce to 6, because 6 plus 2026's universal 1 makes 7. That covers 5 January, 4 February, 3 March, 2 April, 1 May, 9 June, 8 July, 7 August and 6 September.

Three disagreements account for nearly all of it. The first is when the year starts: some schools switch your number on 1 January, others on your birthday, so for part of the year the two methods differ by one. The second is master numbers, since a calculator that stops at 11 or 22 will report a personal year this site would collapse. The third is rarer and simply wrong: a few tools include the birth year, which turns the calculation into something much closer to a Life Path and stops it moving from year to year.

Because the scheme was built that way, by writers who wanted the cycle to breathe in before it breathes out. Whether nine positions in that order describe anything real is a separate question, and the honest answer is that nobody has shown they do.
