The mismatch that ruins most of an 8's relationships, where provision is offered and presence was wanted, does not arise, because a 4 is not asking for presence in that form.
What replaces it is a shared silence about anything internal. Neither number narrates. Neither raises a subject that has been settled. The tradition's blunt warning to 8s, that work eating everything is where this path costs most and that the people at home experience absorption as absence dressed up as sacrifice, applies here with the one modification that the person at home is doing exactly the same thing.
As friends
Straightforward and long. Both respect competence and neither requires the friendship to be maintained with contact. Financially this is the most solid household on the chart. The 8 reading is good at building wealth and reinvesting rather than stopping. Numerologists tell 8s to pick one non-financial measure of a good year and hold themselves to it. In this pairing there is nobody who would think to suggest it, and the person best placed to notice has a full calendar of their own.
The second is rigidity meeting authority. A 4 who has found the correct method will defend it long after conditions changed, and an 8 is unbothered by being disliked for overruling somebody.
